Sulfuras, The Extinguished Hand Obtained!

Killed Ragnaros tonight and guess what? Sulfuras, The Extinguished Hand dropped for my DK. This mace is similar to the Vanilla Legendary Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros only more fiery. It pacts massive stamina and mastery which are primary stats for a Blood Death Knight.

Slapped Rune of the Stoneskin Gargoyle enchant plus 2x Defender's Demonseye, it's ready to smash some trolls. I straight away headed to test out this hot mace in Zul'Gurub right after obtaining it. The swing animation looks really awesome and it feels very epic. It's also worth to try unholy spec with weapon since the big Crit is amazing which I will let you guys know when I get the chance to test it out.

Heroic Firelands Progression

We are getting more prepared for Deathwing as we bust into Firelands and downed 4 heroic bosses this week. It's a big achievement in such a short period of time. The easiest of these four heroic bosses would be Majordomo Staghelm, followed by  Lord Rhyolith and Shannox. The hardest was Alysrazor which took us the whole raid day to down him.

Ragnaros is Downed!

Earlier today, the Firelord himself was killed and extinguished by brave souls. Went in there on my Blood Death Knight and it only took us four attempts before we downed him. We also got the Ragnar-Os achievement as where we're lucky enough to ignite three living meteors with lava waves. Our guild will be preparing for patch 4.3 to battle Deathwing and his legion at Dragon Soul. If you're interested to join an oceanic GMT +8 timezone guild in Thaurissan realm, kindly send me or one of the officers a tell online. We wish you all the best!

Atramedes Striked Through the Heart

We went into Blackwing Descent last night and it was kind of a last minute run with one mission to take Atramedes down. Atramedes is a huge blind dragon that resides at the center of this raid instance which can only be accessed if you have downed Magmaw and Omnitron Defense System.

The night started greatly with a BoE epic that dropped from one of the trash before the boss. The trash before Atramedes is rather difficult if you have no idea what abilities they will use. This took us a wipe or two before we decided to look up the dwarfs abilities and pick a proper kill order, as seen numbered below.

Right side:
1. Spirit of Angerforge - Stoneblood - Purge Hostile effects
2. Spirit of Burningeye - Whirlwind
3. Spirit of Thaurissan - Avatar (+25% dmg)
4. Spirit of Ironstar - Execution

Left side:
1. Spirit of Moltenfist - Thunderclap
2. Spirit of Anvilrage - Stun + high damage (AOE)
3. Spirit of Shadowforge - Chain Lightning
4. Spirit of Corehammer - 100% more damage

We started from the left group, where we assigned our Death Knight tank to pick up two of them and tank them at the corner away from everyone which includes Molten Fist. This is due to Thunderclap Damage will deal a lot of damage to anyone nearby. When one of the dwarf is killed, the rest of the dwarves health will be reset to full again. So single target is the way to go here. For the right pack of dwarves, we have our Death Knight tank to pick up Burningeye due to his high Whirlwind damage. The only thing to note here is to switch to Ironstar whenever he does Execution. You have to DPS the bubble down in order to interrupt him, if not, your raid member being targeted by this ability will instantly die. Ok, done with the trash mobs they're such a pain indeed.

Atramedes the Blind Dragon

For the boss encounter, we used one feral tank, 3 healers and 6 DPS. We wiped a lot on this boss but we were able to quickly learn and adapt to the boss abilities and behavior. Here's what we did correctly at the end and nailed the coffin. We started the pull by tanking the boss slightly in front from where he's standing and turning him around from the raid (near the huge bell if you haven't wipe yet). Everyone will be spreading out to avoid his nasty Sonic Breath and Modulation. Modulation is easy enough to evade since they appear inside the boss and move fairly slowly towards the raid. Sonic Breath we have everyone to pay attention where the boss is facing and they key is to start running the moment he start casting. We assigned a range DPS to interrupt Searing Flame using the 10 gongs available. This has to be interrupted as soon as he cast this or you will wipe. The trick was to pop Bloodlust and have everyone pop their DPS cooldowns 2 sec before he does Searing Flame. This will maximize the damage on boss during that 5 sec stun that will really help you in this encounter.

After Searing Flame, phase 2 will resume where he will start to go airborne. He will target one random member (with the highest sound bar presumably) and breath fire to him or her. The fire chase speed will increase in time so that's when you hit the GONG! We assigned a shaman to standby near the gong. This is because shaman can go Ghost Wolf form and outrun the fire breath just on time before he lands. Here's the trick in phase 2, if he targets someone without any speed buff ability, we had our priest to Leap of Faith a.k.a Life Grip that person out of harms way. Then make sure no one is in the path between that guy and the shaman assigned on the gong. Don't wait or hesitate to click the gong after 8-10 sec elapsed, because it might kill the kiter, just hit the GONG! When you hit the gong watch the fire breath as Atramedes will strike the gong being hit last and will destroy it. Have the shaman to kite and wait for phase 1 to resume again. This process will repeat in 3-4 air phase. We got the boss down during the 4th air phase while he was flying above us. It was really an epic experience you guys should try it!

Omnitron Defense System Devastated

In the same pug run as Magmaw we totally trashed Omnitron Defense System. It was as intense as Magmaw especially healing, but when we got used to each Golems abilities and shields, it's pretty much straight forward. The key to this fight is to stay persistance and avoid making mistakes such as kite the slimes, move away if you got targeted by Magmatron or Electrical Discharge from Electron. In addition, tanks have to use a minor cooldown whenever they're about to switch to a new golem. This will give healer a breathing space to keep everyone top up and get to the correct positions. Towards the end, we had a healer and a DPS downed, one of our tanks were downed too shortly after when the boss is about 1%, the hunter had aggro and kited the boss away while we're nuking all that we've got and we finally got them. It was awesome!

Magmaw Slain by Legendary Players

We got Magmaw downed today with a pug run. Thanks to those who joined including Vokkyn, Ishanie, Coppas, Shamanastic, Arienass, Heiral, Nobslice Vnex and Drejin. You guys are hardcore. We used two stacking points for the healer and range to move away from Lava Parasites and our paladin healer stack on melee. We used two tanks for this fight where they switched right after impale to ensure that they have cooldowns up during Mangle. Overall it's an healing intensive fight, healers are advisable to blow your cooldowns at start due to Pillar of Flame will hit two times. After the impale, it's going to be one Pillar of Flame before the boss will get impaled again thus making healer less stressful.
